Teaching Labour History Webinar
This is a recording of a webinar we hosted in April 2023 in partnership with the Social Studies Educators Network of Canada (SSENC) about bringing labour history into elementary and secondary classrooms.
Showcasing resources and pedagogical approaches from our All for 9 project, this webinar features our education collaborators Renee Allen and Natalie Zacharewski as they share ideas about:
- introducing concepts of labour and labour movements to students,
- utilizing picture books to support younger learners in understanding topics like strikes, and
- using historical case studies featuring primary sources as a foundation and springboard for learning.
The webinar also includes Anna England, Projects Manager, presenting a brief overview of other All for 9 materials available for teachers to use in the classroom.
Runtime is approximately 60 minutes.
